My name is Michaël Papinutto, very curious in nature, I discover many areas through statistical methods.

These techniques mhave very quickly fascinated and this since my Bachelor in Psychology 15 years ago.

Since then, I haven’t stopped to learn about the variety of methods available for a certain situation or in a certain area.

My atypical journey

During high school in biology-chemistry, I discover the psychology that mparticularly interested. Cis precisely during my studies in psychology at theUniversity of Friborg that I am introduced to statistics and scientific research.

I find it particularly fascinating to have rigorous methods in my hands to answer the questions, the hypotheses that we can ask ourselves. I am therefore continuing my studies with a doctoral thesis in cognitive neuroscience.

During my thesis, surrounded by computer scientist, I discover even more tools for manipulating data, including Python, language for which jI have a special affection and affinity both for its elegance and its versatility. I deepened this knowledge with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science.

During and after my doctoral thesis, I continue to continue my learning on statistical methods by learning other methods such as Bayesian statistics and causal methods for which II developed a natural attraction through their scientific frameworks and philosophies.

Being a doctor of psychology and a computer scientist, I now work for the Federal Statistical Office in Business Applications. Which means, that I have to do with computer processes and ensure the preprocessing and data quality. At the same time, I sometimes work for the university or statistical mandates and gives courses in statistics for the doctoral school.

Objective

From my experiences in many fields: clinical psychology, old-aged pensions, computer science, cognitive neuroscience, education, as much to university that within the Federal Administration, I am able to transform complex subjects into concrete approaches.

I attach great importance to precision, in-depth understanding and the construction of robust, useful and elegant solutions.
